In this personal project, I took on the challenge of redesigning the CIBC mobile app to create a simpler, cleaner user experience. The original app was cluttered, making it difficult for users to navigate and complete basic tasks. My goal? To cut through the clutter and deliver a sleek, intuitive interface that makes banking easy.

What was the problem

The current CIBC mobile app is cluttered and hard to navigate. The hamburger menu is packed with too much information, and duplicate links appear in different spots, causing confusion. The text size and spacing are also inconsistent, making the layout less visually appealing.

What did i resolve

I simplified the hamburger menu by reorganizing content for better navigation, removed duplicate links, and improved the overall layout by adjusting text size and spacing. The result is a cleaner, more user-friendly interface that enhances the app’s usability.

The design process

I started by spotting issues with the hamburger menu, which had too many items and subcategories, making it hard to find the right link. To fix this, I listed all the app's features and grouped them to decide what should stay in the menu and what could move to a different page. After organizing everything, I sketched out new layouts and then created low-fidelity designs. With feedback, I refined these into high-fidelity prototypes.
